Using a press-fit pin (also called compliant or interference pin) provides a pressure contact with the printed circuit board (PCB), eliminating the need for wave soldering. The JPB 2×6 1000BASE-T PoE ICM and JT5 2xN 10GBASE-T ICM families are available as press-fit ICMs. Eliminating the wave soldering process saves time, increasing throughput and reducing costs, and allows for rework of the ICM without damaging the customer’s PCB.
